Happy Holidays 2023!
Hey everyone!
Steffen here. Yngvill usually writes these but we’re switching it up. Firstly, it’s been a long time. Sorry about that. We’ve been busy with all sorts of things.
Okay, what have we been up to?
Well, Pode sales passed a bunch of thresholds this year, putting it firmly in the “financial success” bracket. That’s not something we care a lot about per se, but the continuing income from Pode lets us spend more of our time working on games - which we do care about.
We might have some other Pode-related developments coming down the pipeline, but none of that is quite ripe for sharing yet. We’ll keep you posted.
We’re still on the hunt for a publisher and/or investor for Project Nenia. Yngvill’s been hammering on an extended visual target scene in Unity - to show off some more of her vision. Some screenshots:
If you know anyone that might be interested, please let us know. We’re dying to make this thing reality.
I did this piece (which you might recognize from the header image) based on the new visual target scene Yngvill created.
Meanwhile, we’ve had some illness keeping us from committing to larger projects for a while. That, and I became a dad right at the end of August.
Henrik’s been focusing on his writing - working on a short novel in the Campfire canon. If (and when) he decides that’s for public consumption we’ll figure out a way to share it with you guys.
Lastly, I’ve been working on a couple of game projects. Mainly, Vesper, a game I started before I re-joined H&G. If the stars align it might become part of the H&G roster next year. Here’s some early explorations and experiments.
That’s about it. Right now we’re making final preparation for our traditional end-of-year/holiday hibernation. That is, we’re about to take the rest of the year off.
Happy holidays and have a great new year!
