100 days of Vesper
Hey!
Steffen here, with an update on Vesper. I’ve been working on a loosely defined section of the game, sketching in broad strokes, experimenting and building it out piece-by-piece. This leg of the journey is about exploration — finding a working cadence and figuring out what the game is. Moving in slow spirals, towards something.
Check out the devlog for a scattershot account of the process. You’ll see me get into grid-based layouts for the UI, chuck the Unity UI system out and begin building my own. The same goes for mesh-based text. I’m also in the middle of building a modular space ship interior, figuring out lighting, and creating an orbiting satellite scene to host a puzzle concept.
In a few days I’ll put Vesper to the side and head out on another adventure - 5 months of parental leave. I plan on keeping my focus where it ought to be so there probably won’t be any (substantive) updates for a while.
Have a great summer and I’ll see you in November!
